With a reaction science high-voltage scanning transmission electron microscope (acceleration voltage of 1,000 kV), observation is possible in a gas environment from a high vacuum of 10-6 Pa up to 1.3 x 104 Pa. Electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) in a gas environment is also possible. Two gases can be introduced, and N2, O2, H2 and CO + air are always on hand. If you would like to use other gases, you may inquire on a case-by-case basis.
If a gas reaction room is not used, 3D CTs with this equipment can be on a single-axis incline of }70. Additionally, a 360 rotating holder can also be used to leverage the high acceleration voltage characteristics for effective 3D observation of thick samples. This holds true for both biological and non-biological samples.
Liquid He holders, 2-axis incline heated holders, wire-type ultra-high temperature heating holders, nanoindention holders, etc. can also be used.
